LOS ANGELES, Calif. - A goal in the 96th minute put a successful finish on the University of Florida soccer teams California trip Sunday. That goal gave the Gators a 4-3 overtime win at UCLA in front of 1,018 fans at Marshall Field at Drake Stadium.The Gators also went to overtime Friday at No. 3 Stanford, losing 1-0 when the Cardinal scored - also in the 96th minute.Gator senior All-American Savannah Jordan played a role in goals scored in each period Sunday - first, second and overtime.The decisive goal started when Gabby Seiler sent a ball from the Gator half to Jordans feet just inside the Bruin half. Jordan ran down along the right sideline, bypassing one defender and then evading another as she moved into the box. Jordan attempted a square ball to Sarah Troccoli who was making a run through the middle of the UCLA box. That pass deflected off a Bruin defender into goal to end the match.Jordan scored the first goal early in the match. Freshman Julie Lesters cross from deep in the Bruins defensive third was headed in by Jordan in the third minute. She also scored on a diving header in the 73rd minute. Senior defender Erika Nelson sent a 35-yard ball into the box, which Jordan placed in with her head.The Bruins also scored early Sunday. Darian Jenkins high cross was scored at the lower corner off Annie Alvarados diving header in the fifth minute.Sarah Troccolis goal in the 17th minute started with a free kick. Meggie Dougherty sent the ball to just above the six-yard box where it deflected off Gabby Seiler and then Troccoli placed it in.Two scores by Jessie Fleming within a four-minute span put the Bruins in the lead. Fleming headed in a cross from Zoey Garalski in the 65th minute. Shortly later, the Bruins were awarded a penalty kick and Fleming placed it in to give UCLA a 3-2 lead at 68:35.Early in the second half, the Bruins looked to knot the score when they were awarded a penalty kick in the 52nd minute. Gator goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese dived to her right and made the stop on Lauren Kaskies attempt.Florida returns to the Sunshine State and will face No. 1 Florida State in Tallahassee on Friday, Sept. 2.
