Michail Antonio joined Ben and Kammy on the Goals on Sunday sofa to discuss West Ham, England, his unique goal celebrations and more. The Hammers winger scored for the third consecutive game as West Ham came from two goals down to beat Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.Since breaking into the starting eleven in December, Antonio has found the net seven times in all competitions and speaking to Sky Sports, he discussed a number of topics, including a potential England call-up, West Hams top-four ambitions and whether hed prefer Champions League qualification or an FA Cup trophy. Antonio found the net for the third straight game against Everton An FA Cup trophy or a top-four finish...Id take an FA Cup win all day. Top four is amazing but its one of those things where youre part of history if you win the FA Cup. Its a massive competition. You will always be remembered, and you dont really get remembered for finishing fourth. Slaven Bilic is looking to keep his West Ham players grounded On West Hams campaign...Slaven [Bilic] is saying its a great season so far. Its such a tight-knit changing room and he doesnt want to put any pressure on us.He tells us to concentrate on each game, because theres been a couple of times where we didnt start well. We just need to perform and see what happens at the end of the season because its been so unpredictable so far. Antonio has seven goals in all competitions since December When we beat Tottenham [on Wednesday] we went a point off the Champions League qualification places, but as soon as someone said it, someone else said, Dont talk about it because its going to distract you. Im quite superstitious so I dont want to ruin it.On his unique goal celebrations...I was sat in my hotel room one day and I was thinking my goal celebrations were boring. I was just sticking my arms out and running, and I wanted to mix things up and have a bit of banter with the fans.If I do a different celebration every game, at the end of the season Ill do a poll and see which is best. When I did the Homer Simpson one against Sunderland, Cress [Aaron Cresswell] was like, What are you doing?! Michail Antonio imitated Homer Simpson with his celebration against Sunderland Ive got some ideas up next but I dont want to ruin it for everyone. I let the worm out, but now Im thinking, Do I do the worm or not because Ive said it?Ive got my next two planned, though, and after that Ill take some suggestions from fans because Im going to run out of ideas. On playing non-league football with Tooting & Mitcham...I always had belief in my ability and I always thought I could be a professional footballer. I got to 17, and I still thought I was going to make it.When I jumped to League One with Cheltenham, at first I found it difficult but as I got comfortable, I felt I could take the next step. Then I was in and out of the Reading team and signed for Sheffield Wednesday, and since then Ive not looked back. Antonio spent time on loan at Sheffield Wednesday in 2012 before joining them permanently Ian Wright was my idol growing up, and I looked at him and said, Why cant I do that?.Theres lots of players in non-league football that have quality, and I believe its about luck. I dont feel enough scouts go down there to watch and you need to be in the right place at the right time to get spotted. On nearly joining Tottenham...When I was 14, I was playing for my school team and one of my teachers also coached at the time at Spurs. Antonio could have been playing under Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham He mentioned it and a scout came to a game and was looking to sign me and my friend. He signed for them although he didnt manage to make the academy, but my mum wanted me to concentrate on my education.I was commuting from south-west London at the time and I would be getting back quite late. I was crying [at the decision], Im not going to lie, and I was saying, Youve ruined my life mum!But I managed to do my schoolwork and went to college so I feel Ive done it the right way.On playing with Dimitri Payet... Antonio describes Dimitri Payet as a revelation Hes been a revelation to play with. Hes got the feet, the vision, hes got everything. Hes not just a flair player, though, hes got grit as well. He fights and he puts in a slide tackle, and for me hes the player of the season. On Riyad Mahrez... Riyad Mahrez scored his 15th goal of the season against Watford on Saturday Night Football He is quality, and this season hes been a joke at times. Me and some of the boys in the dressing room were talking about him recently because in the Championship he didnt play much.It was Anthony Knockaert who was the main man when they got promoted. But hes come to the Premier League and hes tearing it to pieces. On an England call-up...It would be a dream come true to play for England. Im a massive England fan so Id love to get the chance. Foles will be the starting quarterback when the Philadelphia Eagles play their second preseason game against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night. Michael Vick started last weeks 31-22 to loss to New England and now its Foles turn to take the first snap. The two quarterbacks have been alternating days starting out with the first team so coach Chip Kelly said last week Foles would go first this time because Vick opened the first game. Vick was 4 of 5 for 94 yards, including a perfect 47-yard touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson in two series against the Patriots. Foles lost a fumble on his first series, but led the Eagles to a TD on his next one against New England backups. "I need to go out there and execute the offence and put points on the board," Foles said. "Thats always been the ultimate goal. Just learn from the last one and move forward, just take these practices and get better. Its the same way Ive approached everything Ive always done. Im not changing anything. Im going to keep doing the things that Ive done my whole life that got me here, and that is just work as hard as I possibly can and take it one play a time." Both quarterbacks are expected to play about one quarter apiece against the Panthers. Kelly has both listed as the No. 1 guy on the unofficial depth chart, and hes in no hurry to pick a starter. After rookie Matt Barkley took snaps with the starters in Tuesdays practice, Kelly joked that he would be the starter for Week 1 against Washington. "In the ideal world, wed like to get them into the first and second quarter, and not see those guys at all in the second half," Kelly said about Foles and Vick. "But it depends on how it plays itself out." Kelly didnt show too much of his up-tempo offence last week, though he did use a variety of formations and sets. Vick estimated the Eagles ran less than one-third of their plays. The Eagles started out of the huddle against the Patriots and then went to a hurry-up with Foles before slowing down when Barkley came in. Kelly wont give away his plans, but he suggested the team isnt always going to be running that same fast-paced style he used at Oregonn.dddddddddddd "Theres times were going to have to play fast and times were going to have to play slow," Kelly said. "Really, the game itself dictates what youre going to have to do. Ive said that all along. If youre up, you dont want to play fast, you want to work the clock. But there were certain things in that game we wanted to get accomplished. Our first full game with officials, so just trying to get a feel for it." Running back LeSean McCoy, an All-Pro in 2011, will see his first preseason action against Carolina. But five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters likely wont play because of a hamstring injury thats sidelined him since July 31. On defence, the Eagles get a look at Cam Newton after seeing two opposite styles last week when they faced Tom Brady and Tim Tebow. Brady picked the secondary apart and the Patriots had their way running the ball against Philadelphias defence. "We would have hoped that it would look better than it looked," defensive co-ordinator Billy Davis said. "I was hoping to be further along at this point, but the film is the truth. The game tells you everything you need to know about where we are. Weve got a lot of work to do in tackling still. In order to be a great defence, weve got to make sure we can fit together as a team, and know how each individuals technique is attached to the other techniques which are attached. And were still in the early stage of that learning curve." New cornerback Cary Williams, who started for the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens last year, will make his Eagles debut against the Panthers. Williams has been in the spotlight for comments he made first after skipping voluntary workouts in the spring and then saying this week the Eagles defence isnt feared. Williams later clarified his remarks, explaining that the Eagles are working toward building the type of defence the Ravens had. "I think every NFL defence, every defence in the NFL is striving to be a feared, respected defence," Davis said. "The only way you can get to where youre feared and respected is by playing great defence and being able to get off blocks, make tackles, stop the run." ' ' '
