Two female Purdue students have accused four Boilermakers football players of sexually assaulting them last month.The Tippecanoe County prosecutors office issued a statement saying that West Lafayette police investigated the case and had the cooperation of all parties involved. The prosecutors office decided not to file charges.?The accusations came via a news release by an Indiana law firm that says it represents the accusers.None of the football players was named in the release, but Purdue said in a statement that the four students have been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.In the statement, Purdue said the university launched an investigation immediately upon receiving the allegations, that the investigation is ongoing and that no further information could be released at this time per federal law.The news release from Massillamany & Jeter LLP says the assault occurred Oct. 13 in an off-campus apartment where the players lived in West Lafayette, Indiana. West Lafayette Police investigated an alleged sexual assault that day involving four Purdue athletes and forwarded the case to the Tippecanoe County prosecutors office, according to the Lafayette Journal & Courier.The accusers reported the incident to school authorities and police, according to the law firm. The firm also said at least one other student has come forward, claiming to have been a victim of similar actions by Purdue football players in the past.Firm partner Mario Massillamany called for Purdue to expel the four players.School officials must move quickly to hold these players accountable for their actions and show these victims that their voices are being heard, Massillamany said in the release.
