Similar to the 2012 Gym Green iteration, the sneaker's molded foamposite upper is detailed with a color-shifting hue that looks like dark copper/bronze under regular lighting. Contrasting black is used for the Swooshes, eyestays, rubber sole, lining, laces and pull tabs, while the style is topped off with orange applied on the tongue and miniature Swooshes along the forefoot.

One of those OG colorways happens to be the Nike Air Foamposite Pro University Red. This OG colorway was originally released in 2002, back when it was known as the Varsity Red colorway. The 2016 version manages to almost mimic the look of the 2002 release with the only minor difference being that the Varsity has been converted to a University Red. The shoe will come with an upper consisting of a University Red foam shell paired up with the Black leather eyestay.
